Hop Scotch and Beans
Hop Scotch and Beans, Petrie Terrace
A catch up with MXM means brunching time! He was about to head over to a fairly far far away place (Blackall) for work and we need to keep him caffeinated with proper coffee (unlike instant coffee in a rural place). :)
I suggested Hop Scotch and Beans and we made our way there. Street parking is pretty limited and we parked around the neighbourhood and walked our way there. Although we got there around 11ish, they seemed to be clearing up and ready to close (not right away) ...
We were seated promptly and given the menu. There were few options that interest me but unfortunately they have sold out for the day! Finally, MXM had the '48hr Texas baked beans' while I opted for the 'Eggs my way' with the addition of pork sausage.
My drink of chai tea came by shortly and it was a good cuppa tea while MXM's long black satisfied him. It did not take long for our meals to arrive and I was impressed looking at my silky smooth scrambled eggs. It was cooked well and generous in portion, and even nicer with the pork sausages.
MXM was smiling eating his baked beans because it was just so darn flavourful! We both certainly enjoyed our meals and writing this post makes me want to return to Hop Scotch soon!
