Sing's Asian Kitchen

Sing's Asian Kitchen

I've been to both Sing's Asian Kitchen: Rosalie and Coorparoo. Yup, there's two branches around in Queensland and who knows, maybe there will be more in the future considering how busy these places are?

Always expect to queue for a while before you get a seat (unless you have made a booking). And try not to come if you have sore throat that day. Why? Literally, you have to raise your voice to talk to your dining counterpart. Tables are pretty close to each other and everyone seemed to be talking at the same time.

Casting the ambience aside, the food in Sing's is pretty good actually, offering an eclectic mix of food inspired by Asian, Thai and Vietnamese cuisines.

Coorparoo:

Simco and myself visited Sing's in Coorparoo not too long ago. Luckily, there was an empty table when we got there. Glancing through the extensive list of items, we finally decided on trying their Panang curry and Char Kway Teow.

Panang Curry - $14.90
Chicken tossed with dry Panang paste, onion, kaffir lime leaves and a dash of coconut milk
Each main meal comes with a bowl of small rice. The chicken pieces were soft and tender. The curry wasn't too spicy at all and I felt that it's more on the sweeter side. Its gravy wasn't too runny nor too thick with the right amount of coconut milk. Simco likes this dish, commenting it's delicious!

Char Kway Teow - $16.90
King prawns tossed with fresh garlic, chili, egg, flat rice noodles, bean sprouts and shallots
Those who are char kway teow (CKT) frequent flyer will know that this is not the authentic CKT at first glance. Why? There's carrot, corn ... which you won't usually find. I wasn't a big fan of this dish (I personally like the one from Little Singapore or Malaya Corner)

Rosalie:

A friend celebrated her birthday in Sing's Rosalie last week. Luckily, a booking was made to accommodate at least 18 people.

Curry Puffs
' Just so so...'

Chicken Yellow Curry - $14.90
A mild creamy curry with chicken tossed with seasonal vegetables
This yellow curry is pretty good! I can't describe the taste but it's just bursting with flavours.

Spicy Yellow Crab - $17.90
Tempura battered soft shell crab, wok tossed with a mild sweet taste yellow curry, onion and egg
This dish is definitely the favourite among the diners. Luckily, they recommended this dish. If not, I would never have ordered it. The soft shell crab serving was huge, covering more than half of the plate. Yum yum yum!!!

Hehe ... my hand-drawn dragon!

The Birthday Cake!
*So cute*

You can't go wrong with any of the Sing's! Their food is delicious (if you know what to order) and service wasn't that bad either. It's just the noisy ambience that disappoint. Otherwise, it's worth a visit or get take-aways!
